CONTRIBUTED PAPERS

Scientific contributions related to the topics discussed during the Symposium will be considered by the Scientific Program Committee, which will decide whether the paper will be an oral or a poster presentation.  All abstracts must be written in English and submitted according to the instructions below.

Deadline: Abstract and Early Registration must be received by JUNE 11, 2007.
Abstracts received after JUNE 11 will not be accepted.

For an abstract to be considered, the presenting author must also register for the
Symposium by JUNE 11, 2007.

RULES FOR PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

  1. The abstract must be written in English. The abstract (including title, authors with affiliations, abstract body, and funding information) must not exceed 2,000 characters. If the abstract exceeds 2,000 characters, an error message will be displayed on the screen. You will then need to edit your text accordingly.
  2. Funding: Abstracts submitted for presentation must include a disclosure of any and all funding sources of commercial nature for the work done in the abstract.
  3. All presenting authors must complete a Disclosure Form on-line before submitting any abstracts.
  4. Before submitting your abstract, please read carefully the instructions given online. Abstracts not following the instructions will be rejected. You can edit your abstract on-line until June 11, 2007. After that date, no corrections will be accepted. Please note that to revise your data, you need your username and password.
  5. Receipt of the abstract will be acknowledged on-line through a flash message on the screen. (Please print it for your future reference.)
  6. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by members of the DALM2007 Scientific Program Committee who will decide whether the paper will be accepted (as an oral or a poster presentation) or rejected.
  7. Presenting authors will be notified by email about the acceptance of their abstract(s) by the end of July 2007. Presenting authors will also receive instructions regarding their oral and/or poster presentation(s).
  8. Authors are allowed to submit no more than 2 abstracts as presenting author.
  9. If an abstract is accepted, the presenting author must register for the Symposium and present it personally. The registration fee must be paid in full prior to presentation.
  10. The abstracts will be published as a Supplement of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology and will be distributed to all participants at registration on-site and all subscribers.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be aware that the submission of the abstract implies the terms of use agreement by all the presenting authors to DALM2007/Giovanni Lorenzini Medical Foundation.

HOW TO PREPARE AN ABSTRACT
Please read carefully the instructions written below before creating your abstract. Your entire abstract must include the following:

  1. List of Authors
    List first name followed by family/last name (first letter in upper case, other letters in lower case). Omit degrees, titles, and full address. Please list all authors in the order they should appear in the publication. Only one presenting author can be chosen.
  2. List of Affiliations
    Please list affiliations of all author(s). The affiliations must include department, institution, city, state, and country.
  3. Abstract Title
    Capitalize the entire title. Spell out words and do not abbreviate.
  4. Abstract Body
    The text should be arranged, if possible, according to the following headings: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Funding. Images and tables are not allowed.
  5. Presentation Preference
    Please specify the Presentation Preference (Oral/Poster/Indifferent) when submitting your abstract on-line.
  6. List of Topics
    Please choose the preferred Topic from the List of Topic on-line when submitting your abstract.
  7. Keywords
    The Abstract Book will include a Topic Index. Authors are requested to select up to 5 keywords related to their abstract from the List of Topics (one keyword is mandatory) when submitting your abstract.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE
The letter of acceptance including guidelines for Oral and Poster presentations will be sent via email to all presenting authors by the end of July 2007 through the on-line system.
