Date and Venue: The Symposium will start on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 13.30 and will end on Saturday June 23, 2007 in the afternoon. The venue is the Hilton Berlin (Mohrenstraße 30 - 1017 Berlin) situated in the city’s centre.

REGISTRATION
Only registered participants may attend the scientific sessions
and the social events offered by the Symposium. The late enrolment
fee (from June 10 and on-site) will be charged even if the
registration form (without payment) was received before that
date.

FOR ITALIAN PARTICIPANTS ONLY
All the Italian participants with the VAT/IVA number must
indicate this number (and the corresponding address) in the
registration form (DPR 633/72).
The regular invoice for the registration will be sent only
to those who have indicated the fiscal code and/or the IVA
number (compulsory if available) of the actual payer.
BADGES
The official name badge must be worn for admission to all
sessions and other activities of the Symposium. Badges will
show different colours:

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
Certificates of Attendance will be available on request at
the end of the Symposium at the Registration Desk. The request
form is enclosed in the Symposium envelope.
CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION
EUROPEAN CME (EACCME) – for
European participants
The Fondazione Giovanni Lorenzini Medical Science Foundation
is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education (EACCME) to provide this CME activity for
medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European
Union of Medical Specialists
(EUMS), www.uems.net.
This activity is designated for a maximum of 15 hours of European
External CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim
only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the
educational activity.
EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association
towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To
convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact
the AMA.
EBAC ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE
The 2nd International Symposium “Integrated Biomarkers
in Cardiovascular Diseases” is accredited by the European
Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) for 15 hours
of external CME credits. Each participant should claim only
those hours of credit that have actually been spent in the
educational acticity. EBAC works in cooperation with the European
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME),
which is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists
(UEMS).
GERMAN CREDITS – for German
participants only
The Symposium has been evaluated by the Academy of the German
Society of Cardiology and nr. 22 CME Credits are issued by
the Berliner Ärztkammer.
ITALIAN CME CREDITS/CREDITI ECM
– for Italian participants only
CME Credits (Crediti ECM) have been applied for from the Italian
Ministry of Health for all the sessions.
Participants will find all necessary information concerning
the CME Credits in the ECM envelope, which may be obtained
at the Secretariat Desk.
COFFEE BREAKS
Coffee Breaks will be offered to all registered participants
at the Hilton Hotel from Thursday, June 21 afternoon until
Saturday afternoon, June 23.
LUNCHES
Light lunches will be offered to all registered participants
at the Hilton Hotel on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June
23. The tickets for the lunches are enclosed in the Symposium
envelope.
POSTER RECEPTION
It will be offered to all registered participants on Thursday,
June 21 at 6.45 pm.
ELECTRICITY
In Germany sockets operate with 230 V and comply with European
standards. For appliances from outside Europe you should bring
the necessary adapter with you.
PERSONAL INSURANCE COVERAGE
Registration for the Symposium implies that the participant
agrees that neither the Scientific Organizing Committee nor
the Fondazione Giovanni Lorenzini assume any liability or
responsibility whatsoever.
The Symposium participants are requested to make their own
arrangements for medical, travel, and personal insurance.
The Scientific Organizing Committee cannot assume liability
for changes in the program due to external circumstances.

The official language of the Symposium is English. No simultaneous
translation is provided
PRESS REGISTRATION
Working press from newspapers, magazines, radio and television
stations, and medical publications will be registered free,
provided that they can officially demonstrate their position.
SCIENTIFIC EXHIBITION
During the Symposium an exhibition of technical instruments
and products is held in the meeting area.
SLIDE LIBRARY
A Slide Library of the invited lectures and posters presentations
will be available after the Symposium on www.lorenzinifoundation.org
TRANSPORTATION
By airplane: you can fly to Berlin from many international
airports. The Berlin’s three airports are: Tegel (distance
from Hilton hotel: 8 km; drive time: 30 min); Schönefeld
(distance from the hotel: 24 km; drive time: 50 min); and
Tempelhof (distance fron hotel: 4 km; drive time: 20 min).
By train: you can reach Berlin from all directions
by using the fast InterCityExpress-, InterCity-, EuroCity-
and InterRegio Trains.
By car: all motorways to Berlin lead to the Berliner
Ring (A10).
